Description
James Gilchrist has recently taken charge of a rural parish in a seemingly idyllic village. However, it soon becomes evident that church life is being hampered by difficulties on every side; threats from predatory business interests, the presence of an obscure men’s organisation and temptations of a more subtle nature surround him and his daughter.
Vigil tells the story of how this small congregation becomes the target of a spiritual battle and has its faith tested to the ultimate.
Throughout, there are strong themes of faith, passion and sacrifice, presenting Biblical truths in recognisable situations. The book concludes with a discussion section for those wanting to reflect or study.
